Triacetate (TAC)

TAC lenses are cut from a plastic film that consists of several layers.
Sunglasses with polarizing TAC lenses are extremely lightweight and therefore very comfortable.

Polycarbonate (PC)

In these lenses, the polarizing material is embedded in a layer of very high quality polycarbonate.
Polycarbonate has very high durability and these lenses are therefore very robust.

In other words, the polarizing polycarbonate lenses not only protect your eyes from the sun – they also make you see better and prevent dazzling reflections.

Photochromic TAC lenses

Polyamide lenses are injection molded using high-precision machines.

LIGHT TRANSMISSION

Visual Light Transmission, or VLT, is the amount of visible light that passes through the lens. For example, if a lens has a VLT rating of 12, 88% of the light is blocked and only 12% passes through. In other words, the lower the VLT rating, the darker the lens.

COPPER LENSES

Copper-colored lenses enhance contrasts without distorting colors and are therefore recommended for medium to bright light conditions.

LENS COATINGS

Lenses can be treated in a variety of ways to improve their properties and sharpness. Leech Eyewear offers a variety of lens coatings: hydrophobic coating, mirror coating, anti-reflective coating, etc.

All Leech sunglasses have a hard coating that makes them highly scratch-resistant.

MIRROR COATING

A mirror coating reflects light and protects the eyes from bright sunlight. There are mirror coatings that are suitable for many different environments. Mirror coatings are also popular from a fashion point of view.

UV TREATMENT

100% UV400 PROTECTION

UV400 is our strongest protection category.

All Leech lenses protect against UVA, UVB, UVC radiation and block 100% of the harmful UV radiation from the sun.

HYDROPHOBIC COATING

A hydrophobic coating makes the lens more water-repellent, which is super practical when using sunglasses on the lake.

The coating binds the molecules in the lens together so that water cannot penetrate and cause permanent damage.

ANTI-REFLECTION COATING

Anti-reflective coating, also known as AR or anti-glare coating, is a microscopically thin coating that eliminates glare. Lenses with anti-reflective coating improve vision and reduce eye strain.

Progressive lenses or multifocal lenses have a gradual transition of powers and correct vision at both distance and near.

Single-cut lenses

Single-vision lenses are for those who only have one type of vision defect, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness. Single-vision lenses have the same power across the entire lens.
